Jet Drag and Largest Corporate Relay for Life

Delta Supports American Cancer Society: Jet Drag and Largest Corporate Relay for Life

Planes may be big, but cancer is bigger. In this year’s Jet Drag, thousands of Delta Air Lines employees will compete in the ultimate plane-pulling contest to see which team can move a Boeing 757 20 feet in the shortest amount of time in a fundraiser supporting the American Cancer Society. A leading source of inspiration for the event, a team of Delta cancer survivors and caregivers, also will be pulling a plane alongside Delta executives as members of “Team Hope.”

When teams aren’t flexing their muscles in the 10th annual Jet Drag, they’ll be participating in the largest corporate U.S. Relay For Life nearby, walking laps and raising money at the multiple fundraising booths that line the path.

The employee-led fundraising efforts support the American Cancer Society's lifesaving research, education and patient programs. Delta has partnered with the American Cancer Society for 17 years and raised $14,090,608 through a number of grassroots employee initiatives.

Celebrities participating in past Jet Drag events have included: musician Kenny G, WWE wrestler John Cena, and Atlanta Braves Hall of Famer Tom Glavine.
